Hi,I would like to know how can i fix this error?
When booting it gives an error message that the operating system is not found.
I tried to reinstall the operating system and at the setup it does not identify the hard drive
setup gives message that it cannot access disk.Tried to repair and used chkdsk \p, but it doesnt work.
The Bios recognizes the hard drive,but it aint accepting the windows instalation.
I think that the drive is defective what do u think?

Just to clarify: the BIOS detects the hard drive but booting the XP CD results in "setup gives message that it cannot access disk"?

Do you know the make of drive? You can make a bootable floppy diagnostic based on the manufacturer. Here is a general list:

Also: what was happening before this? Was this a working computer? Did it just fail all of a sudden?
