There is a mesenger service Pop-up that keeps giving different messages every other minute. I know it is some kind of trap so how do I stop it from happening? It says things like your registry is damaged etc. go to this web site and download.

Shoot The Messenger

In addition to Bear's excellent link I would suggest having SP2 installed & the firewall enabled.
