Does anyone know the best way to stop all the uneccesary proccesses from runing in the backround . It seems like there are a million things going on and the computor is very sluggish and slow. I defragmented and also did a disk cleanup.

This free program Autoruns will show you everything that starts with your system.

You can generally Google the entry or process to find out what it is & if it is neccessary or not.

Your program startups are listed under the Logon tab. From File you can Save & post if you choose. If you choose the Everything tab you will see everything; which is quite extensive!
