damn blue screen...

Re: damn blue screen...
Here is a nice overview of your motherboard:
http://www.digital-daily.com/motherboard/asus-a7n8x/
Perhaps reloading the chipset drivers might help:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html
There is a RAM test here:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Another check would be to try another graphics card (if available).
Keep checking for error messages.

I tried to play Metallica-Nothing Else Metters in Winamp and a new blue screen and error appeared:
NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS
*** STOP: 0x00000035 (0x83130EC8,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
I tried to play the song again and the same thing happened!
BUT,it only happens in Winamp! When i played the song in Windows Media Player the blue screen din't appear. It appeared at the middle of the song
Then i went to Event Viewer and there were these errors which happened at the same time as when i tried to play the songs!!
Here's what it says:
Source:Service Control Manager Event:7001
WHAT NOW???

Double click (or right click) that error in the Event Viewer & post the Description.
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?e...anager&phase=1
Everything is pointing to a or some drivers with the outside possibility of a RAM problem.
I would try the RAM diagnostic from post #11 as well as the chipset drivers.

Description:
The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service can not be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enebled devices associated with it.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp
I'm on dial up so i'l download those ehings when i have much free time(now i don't....)

The Computer Browser Service is a network service. If you are not on a network the error is benign.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188001
When you can I would try the drivers.
Chipset first:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html
If that doesn't help then try the graphics drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_78.01.html

hmm,my brother and i are on a network...but i pluged off the cable...
ok i'l download those things as soon as i can...

Dis-connecting from the network might have triggered that error.
