after getting rid of alot of spam, spyware, and adware on my Compaq 7550 computer, I keep getting a message that reads runner file name (Compaq Connections.exe) lacks a "-" (the app id separator). How can I get this back in my computer?

This is a common problem with Compaq. This is the standard response:

click Start/Run/ & type in msconfig and press enter and uncheck Compaq Connections from the Startup tab: click apply then OK and reboot.
