hi im trying to install windows xp to my daughters recently formated computer. It was running ME and i made a boot disc from that. Now i cant install xp as it cant be accessed from dos any thoughts? thanks jules

the machine should boot from the CD, just set your BIOS to boot from CD
lol most xp cds are not bootable i suggest u install the Me back then slam in the xp cd upgrade or fresh install then after it restarts it will ask if u want to format then do so gudluck

XP CD's are indeed bootable. If you have an Upgrade version you will need the ME disk or an earlier version of Windows to enable the "Upgrade".
As brain damage said: just boot the XP CD & follow the prompts.
