haven't been on for ages cos started a new job .. and my teenage daughter has obducted my pc .. lol,
anyway have been trying to clean up a friends pc thats full of virus's but would like some info or advice on reg restoring looking for a software but unsure of name .. that does all this for u but protects the files at same time .. any idea's

Are you wanting to restore the registry?

Doing a Repair Install of XP will do that & leave your files alone.

There are many less drastic steps if you want to just clean up the machine but they won't neccessarily Restore the Registry.

thanks for the reply .. after running several anti virus progs thro her machine its going great so didn't need to mess around with anything else .. but cheers anyway xx
