no sound device, etc.
Ok. Up until recently....maybe a month ago now....I had sound. And then one day, the volume started to go down by itself. This stopped pretty soon after and then out of nowhere, it was just gone. I have no sound card at all apparantely even though this computer is relatively new and most everything else is working fine. ....pretty much. (I'll go into that also) I found other threads talking about the same thing and I did what they said....went into my computer management and looked for yellow exclamation points or whatever and I didn't even have a sound drive to look at. Its just gone. If the only option is to buy a new one or have somebody install it, what exactly am I supposed to ask for?
My other issue is this. I used to use IE and then I switched to Foxfire because of popups and whatnot. But now all the stuff I used to use under IE like my music downloading thing (I pay, I'm legal. haha) and AIM and all that still wants to open under IE and everytime anything happens, about a million windows open asking me if I want to save to disc or something and I can't even use my music program that I paid a pretty good chunk of money for. How can I switch it or is it not possible?
To whoever choses to help me, you will be my angel. I'm dying to get back into everything again.

Look here: Start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound
What is the Device?
What is the make & model of the computer?
Many apps & programs are programed to open IE.
You can set Firefox as your default browser which may help for some programs.
Go to: Set Programs Access & Defaults.
What is the music program?
When you say: "everytime anything happens, about a million windows open asking me if I want to save to disc or something" do you mean everytime you try a download?
Are you saying that this was different previously?
When you say: "I switched to Foxfire because of popups and whatnot" did you run virus scans etc.?
