when I try to restore windows xp there are plenty of restore points
if I try to restore to any of them the pc restarts but says it can not restore try another restore point (with the same results)

system restore on xp will not restore although there are plenty of restore points

Have you tried the most recent point?

If this fails you probably need to reset System Restore by turning Off then back On.

This will clear all points but should reset for the future. You can do this via Right click My Computer then click Properties then System Restore.

Why are you trying to restore? What problems are you having?

Hi my friend lost all the desktop icons & taskbar
I googled the problem and there were lots of suggestions
but none of them worked in the end I reinstalled xp
