    No Desktop

I got up this morning to a computer with only a desktop picture. No icon's, no Start, no taskbar, no clock. I can get into My Computer and the items available there and I can CRTL,ALT DEL to shut down and restart.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Try restoring the System Files to a previous known good state (Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, System Information, Tools, System Restore).

Thanks Mike, but I don't have a Start Icon to access the Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, System Information, Tools, System Restore).
I restarted in safe mode but it's in the same condition as my OS Desktop.

Try Ctrl > Esc to bring up the start menu.

Or try safe mode with command promt & enter:

    %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

    Also perhaps:

Restore Taskbar and Desktop to Default Functionality (Line 164)
