    Win XP boot problem...

Just though I would post this too see if there was anything I could do too fix it before I use my copy of windows 98.

Before this happent. I downloaded a spyware thing from downloads.com and did a scan. I came up with the files but it did'nt delete them. Then my computer started throwing errors at me left right and centre.

I though nothing off it and it would go away if I rebooted it. But the problem got worse . It boot's up grand and the window's xp home boot screen come's up. Then a blue screen for a second and I mean a second and then it just restarts and it keep's doing that. Anyone got any ideas? I put my copy of windows xp into it but it would boot the boot disk or the cd.

    Please help

    Dave...

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode Options? Last known good config?

Is your BIOS set to boot the CD before the HD?

If you cannot boot your CD there is a problem prior to your hard drive.

If your BIOS is set to boot the CD prior to the hard drive than perhaps the CD drive is faulty.

You can try to load your XP CD from boot floppies as shown here:
