Check out Start/Run/ dxdiag | Display
What is the device?
there are no devices
Is this computer working otherwise? Is the monitor working? I am wondering if you have any display with no display device?
Look in you Device Manager for Display Adapter: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc
Do you know if you have a graphics card? Also try this scan: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
What is under: System Model? also: Main Circuit Board? also: Display?
system model: Micro-Star Inc. MS-6534 100 System Serial Number: Richfield Asset Tag: 0123ABC
main circuit board: Board: Micro-Star Inc. MS-6534 100 Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. S V1.0 08/14/01
display:NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200 [Display adapter]
That is an on-board graphics chip. I see its' Display Memory @ 32.0 MB
Still curious why it doesn't show in dxdiag. Did you check the device manager?
ye i check it and its say nivida...
the dxdiag still shows nth
Well as to your original question:
"i install Age of empires III dema and tried to play...
I open it and its says need 60 mb video card "
You only have 32 mb.
If you think the issue is other than this you can try to reload drivers if they are available for Micro-Star Inc. MS-6534.
Do you have a driver CD for the motherboard?
Also you might want to download or redownload the latest directX here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
i tried to download directx but it says this when it is checking if my windows is geniue:
Why did my machine fail validation?
There are several reasons why a product key may not be valid.
The product key associated with your copy of Windows was not issued by Microsoft. The key detected on your system is counterfeit and was most likely generated by a non-sanctioned key generator. If Windows came pre-installed on your computer, please see the steps you can take below.
The product key found on your computer has been detected on multiple computers. Product keys are only allowed to be used on one machine unless otherwise specified in the end user licensing agreement.
Counterfeiters have been known to sell computers with Windows installed using the same product key to unsuspecting consumers. If you suspect this happened to you, please see the steps you can take below.
If you have used this product key on more than one computer, you will need to purchase a new product key. Each computer must have its own unique product key.
The reasons are pretty well spelled out there.Originally Posted by smartboy3
What was the source of your XP?
Your System Model as seen in Belarc is pointing to your motherboard which would indicate a custom built computer?
Did you buy & install XP yourself?
