I used my friends disk, was not the exact windows disk, but it did install Windows XP onto my computer. Everything was running fine, and then i tried to install the actual windows XP using the Windows Disk and it started installing, but when it reached the Registering Components part of the installation, the computer just shuts down. If anyone has any idea what's causing this problem, or even better a solution, just let me know please

What kind of disk would install XP other than an XP disk?

If everything was fine then why did you try a reinstall?

As to your error: Registering Components:

Use the UPGRADE ADVISOR from the XP cdrom before installing XP. It should point out any hardware or software incompatibilities.
