    Cannot download images

    Since sometime today or yesterday, my computer, running Win XP Home cannot download any images from Google or Yahoo. I select Save Image As, go to a folder, click Save . . . and nothing! It's not a Read-Only problem -- I can save documents in the same folders.

    It seems as if I have somehow shut down or disabled the Download Manager. Any clue how to start it? (Windows "Help" gets worse with every upgrade, and it's beyond useless now.) Or is it something else?

    What browser are you using?

    Also it is probably a different issue but what do you mean exactly by:

    Windows "Help" gets worse with every upgrade, and it's beyond useless now

    [QUOTE=jephree]What browser are you using?

    Netscape. I really think it's a Netscape problem, as I was able to download with SlimBrowser. I think I'll figure it out or maybe reinstall Netscape.

    I used to find the self-contained help ... well, helpful. Now it takes extra time to marshal vast internet resources to not answer my question. I'd think that using "Download Manager" as a keyword phrase would tell me how to turn it back on. I only got pointers to totally unrelated stuff about music files. Same for Visual Studio 6 -- you have to keep version 5 around to access useful Help.

    You're right, it's unrelated, and I really shouldn't have been venting here. But I appreciate your response.

    When i first searched your problem everything pointed to Netscape is why I asked about the browser. Anyway here are some ideas:

    You also might want to uninstall Download Manager.
