I have an inspiron 8500 and i guess i closed the screen to hard because now that little pin that tells wether or not the screen is down is jammed in the down position. I used tweezers to try and pull it out and the screen turned on but as soon as i let go of the pin it went back down

is there no way you can keep it up, like hold it up with tweezers and put a bit of glue on it whilst you keep it held up? is it still under guarentee?
if so, you could take it back, if not, i think you may need to take it to a pc repair shop and see if they can do anything
