    3d driver problem

Hello, My name's Leon, I'm new here to the forums. I've been having a few problem with the games i'm been trying to play. All of the 2D games i had no problem with. But the 3D games won't start up and gives me a error like:
"No 3D card found or lower drive version Please try again by downloading the latest Video driver card."

I looked under my driver's infomation if that might help.

    I hope this might help.

    Welcome to D-A-L, Leon

What are the games? Have you checked the minimum requirements?

That on-board Intel chip may not be adequate for high end games.

Sorry, But i'm not sure what you are trying to say. I'm new to everything that i'm want to fix here. It happens to all 3D games, I've been trying to play.

Is there anyway i can upgrade the on-board Intel chip?

I used to be able to play these games until i reformatted my system.

The only way to upgrade is to add a Graphics Card.

However looking at the Intel chip it should run most games.

Do you have DirectX 9.0c? You will see your DirectX version on the System tab of Dxdiag.

If you do not have 9.0c you can get it here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Also there is a newer driver for your Intel chip here:

    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...5&submit=Go%21

Read the Read Me (txt) for Installation Instructions!

More info on your chip here:

Were you able to install the new driver? But the games still don't work?

Why did you reformat? Did you do a Clean Install?

What is the make & model of the computer? Or is it custom built?

Also if you could copy the exact error message that would be helpful.

My computer's model is a dell demension 3000,

I have to reformat cause a huge infection in my computer, and I couldn't change the computer to a cetain time and date.

Edit: Hmmm, The upgrade installation worked after a good old fashion restart,

Edit: The games still failed , just gave me the same "3D video card not found error".

The Dell Dimension 3000 / Microsoft Windows XP / English drivers are here:

There are 3 Video drivers. Maybe worth a try.

Also perhaps try the Chipset driver.

Don't know dude. Did you try the Dell drivers? You may need to contact Dell.

One thing that you might want to check is your Page File setting.

Right click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced

Performance [Settings] Advanced | Virtual memory | Change

& set to System managed size.

    Also from the Dell setup:

    http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1054637

    Video Memory Size:
Sets the amount of system memory to be reserved for the onboard video controller.
