Curiously tho I just checked Belarc & it reads 61.49 GB total.

Did you get a warranty on that warranty?

That error is a "bad or missing command interpeter" when I run the W.D. tool....
My windows reads 74Gigs, and the belarc 79.96, and now that you mentioned it, when I sent dell the info to prove the missing programs and partitions, I used the belarc (which I learned of from reading posts here), and I also included some simple but very effective photos using MS Paint (bigest reason is, can't figure the photo shop ones,suppose there's a forum for that, and will research later-LoL), I took photos of the ghost to show the missing partitions, and I think that was the key, since they use symantec products to create their system restores LoL....
Everything else is running well, and the W.D. is about 20% faster than the S.G.
I guess the computer is starting to settle in a little, because other than the new Hd.drive, everything else seems to be slowing down +or- 10-30%, but I expect some of that, since it's hard to tell if I even have the latest drivers, and dell some how blocks you from using the vendor sites (only works if I download the dell version), a re-format will fix that, and all else I believe....
I am anxiously awaiting the SRCD, to see if it can be utilized on an individual basis, or a complete install (am figuring the latter), as the other would be too good to be true LoL.....
A warranty for the warranty--where may I sign up for that one LoL, I never did get a reply from the Arbitrators, but dell did get friendlier, all of a sudden (not friendly though), and my biggest suggestion to dell users is to use the E-mail, I know it's slower, but easier to understand for one, and you also get an auto reply, which means they have to respond, and would also suggest, sendig yourself a copy (proof it was sent)....and take some time to research (knowledge scares 'em, especially the poven kind)LoL
It took 2 months, but they assigned a manager to it (WooHoo-right), and it seems that I have he/she confused also (Beth says "I have that effect on people") Hmmm, anyways, that's where it's at--at this moment, and will keep updating as it goes.....
Am thinking we need to re-name ths thread as "dell hell" LoL, and ironically enough, the search results do close-(now it's regular programs that stay there) still haven't figured that one though, it just started working after numerous installs (will this work for the programs, also ???)

Well, hello--been real busy, and sbc has been down; anyways, I solved most of my problems, by burning dell at the stake LoL , and just re-installing windows, because none of there fixes work, they sent out discs to replace the whole nine yards from a mirror image, to which, if the programs opened, they wouldn't respond, and couldn't be killed or closed, and I must say, that since the clean install, I have had very few problems, and am starting to re-build my files, and hoping LoL
Don't know what it is, but I can see no use in imaging, sure hasn't worked for me, and it was tried several times, mostly by them, still really haven't tried mine, but hey, it had some of the other bugs anyways-ie: search results (won't close)......
Do have one question though, I thought it was just the wifes computer, because it is so old, but mine has done it a few times, so now I am curious--the screen just goes black, and comes right back on, and the manufacturing date on this one is like april 2005, so now I am thinking it's not age LoL am going to go do some research on that, but just figured that I would mention it, just to let you know that- if this the worst problem that I am having right now,, I am happy Lol after all the hardware is covered now till 2009.........

Ps: for a laugh, when I installed the first time, I took the disc out too soon apparently, even though everything seemed Ok, and luckily on one of the first programs that I tried to install, I got the system file not suitable for running MsDos & windows apps., and yes I tried the microsoft fix, and yes I had to re-install LoL , and made sure that I did not take the disc out this time and looked a little more closely--A:/ drive (floppy) (not Cd), no more hurring for me--LoL
