hi,
i live in france but sadly dont yet speak enough french to pick up the phone or go to a computer shop for help, i have a brand new HP pavilion a415 computer that i purchased here, we have had it a few months now, and up until yesterday we had sound from our speakers, then today no sound, we changed our speakers and still nothing, do you have any ideas that may help me??? PLEASE.
i do remember that a pc has a sound card , do you think it could be this and if so how would i check it??

it may sound daft ....but have you plugged the new speakers into the correct jack? have you got power to the speakers?

so youv changed nothing but speakers? no hardware or drivers etc?

just some quetions first
have you tried rebooting your pc?
if yes have you tried the system restore back to a date before the pc went wrong?
have you tried updating the sound card drivers recently?
hope this gives you some ideas
please come back to me if you need further help to do a system restore as this should sort out your problem and it is not as drastic as it sounds
