Bad sectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi.......
iam using windows XP pro
and i stared to have a problem in the hard disk..
first my account became corrupt and i couldn't log using my account
so i made a new one..... and that solved the problem
but later the other account became corrupted and i made another one!!!
AND later i turnd the pc and it gave me a messege some thing like:
Missing boot files in system32 (not exaxtly but the same idea)
ah and before that the pc became tooo slow!
so i put the windows xp disk and went to the repair and logged into
the account and made a chkdsk /p /r
it found alot of bad sectors and disk errors
it took alot of time
i restarted the pc and then all the accounts worked!!!!
and there was files that the pc couldn't read i recoverd them!!!
but after a weak the same problem happend and i did chkdsk again
then two days later!!!! the same problem happend
and now every 2 days i have to make a chkdsk!!!!
and some times when i start windows i get the blue death screen
as soon as the login screen apears
and it restarts imeadietly!!!!
until i make a chkdsk!!!
and it fins alot of errors and bad sectors
and some time when iam logged it restarts suddenly!!!
so why is this happening?!
is it the hard disk or the problem is in windows?!!
i use Kaspersky anti-virus and it didn't find any virus!
any idea??!!
i'll be gratefull

If chkdsk keeps fixing & failing continues I would check the drive.
What is the make of the drive? Most manufacturers have diagnostic utilities.
Here is a general list:
http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287
Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with this issue.

Try the PowerMax diagnostic:
http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/Ma...&downloadID=22
You will download & create a boot floppy that will test your drive.
Let us know if you need more info on doing this.
