important: Downgrade TO IE6
Hello,
I downloaded the Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1. I really didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. This left me with just Windows Explorer, not IE. When I try to install IE 6 now, it says I already have a newer version installed.
This is time sensitive.
Thanks.

Thank you. However, I can not locate the IsInstalled subkey.

I found the key and changed the value to 0. However, it still doesn't work

If sfc /scannow doesn't fix it I can only think of running a Repair Install of XP.
This will retain your files & programs & reload XP & IE.
You will then have to reload all Windows Updates & Service Packs.
Or try to reinstall IE7.
It is hard to tell the affect of Beta software on an Operating System.
Starting with XP IE became integrated with the Operating System.
It is not just something that can be uninstalled & reinstalled.
