The device manager will show many items yes; this is common.

What are the 3 in dxdiag?

    Is #1 set as Primary?

If you see #2 & or #3 in the Device Manager set to Disable.

You can always reverse this if need be.

The issue is definitly your sound card & or drivers. Did the drivers you installed come with the card?

Actually I am not seeing that card listed at dxdiag & the drivers in conflict appear to be your on-board drivers.

As a test does removing the card resolve the issues? Also notice the difference in the listings of dxdiag as well as the device manager with the card in & out.

    Is this the card:

    http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...26&GroupID=283

I am a bit confused about its' specs & Genius no longer has any info on it.

I know it's tedious but the only thing that I can think of is to compare both dxdiag & device manager listings with & without the card. What is the difference?

You may need to experiment enabling & disabling certain devices & drivers.

If you can you locate the drivers that were installed with the card CD that would be the first thing to uninstall untill we can figure out what the conflict is.
