hi, welcome to DAL, first off, we will need a bit more info,
do you get any error messages before it shuts down?
have you scanned for viruses with an anti-virus program? (you can use your own or download AVG antivirus by clicking the link in my signature labled AVG Anti Virus Free Edition)
is this a new problem? if it is you could try system restore to restore your computers settings to an earlier time (info here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...emrestore.mspx
This could also be a hardware problem (e.g something overheating)
I try that,I think its a worm I saw it on the new ealier, It keeps on rebooting its self its been doing it for a few days,Now I cant even stay on the computer long.
what did you try? the system restore?
if you think its a worm, scan for viruses using AVG antivirus or some similar Anti virus program, then, follow These instructions and post a HJThis log (download from link in my signature if you havnt got it) in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section (not here please) someone will read your log and tell you what to do asap
Mike
The worm in the news (W32.Zotob) is targeted at Windows 2000 networks.Originally Posted by manda20

Do you have all Windows Updates including SP2 & its' subsequent updates?
Also to get error messages change this setting:
rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart
Post back the full error. You will then have to manually shutdown.
if still unresolved, ask your pc vendor to check SMPS (switch modem power supply),i had same problem, got it checked and it seems SMPS was blown .lol good luck .btw its device which is in the Tower(Cpu) .
