first i don't know a thing about computers,i had someone up to take a look at it for me,and all they came up with was to reboot the system which i agreed but it is still not working properly,it freezes totally and i have to reset,

I HAVE AN NVIDIA FX 5200,AND I UPDATED THE DRIVER AND IT MADE IT WORSE SO I ROLLED BACK THE DRIVER .
if anyone could help,it would save me going nuts.

That error is your nVidea driver.
When you updated drivers did you uninstall the old first?

It might also be a good idea to update the chipset drivers first.
But you need to know what set you have. nForce or VIA or Intel; etc.

Are you able to get into windows? online? try Safe Mode: press F8 after Computer Logo screen (or BIOS) before windows loads.

OK ... that's a VIA chipset. The chipset drivers are refered to as VIA 4in1.

After updating the chipset I would again try to update the nVidia driver.
Following the installation Hints. Basically you need to uninstall the old before installing the new.
