Hi well my desktop icons and start up bar is not coming up at all and its been doing this for about 2 months and im not sure what it is. I have tried restarting my computer but that dosent do anything. I have also tried right clicking on th desktop and nothing happens. So i use windows task manager to start programs and documents ect. So if any one has any ideas whats going on thanks.

When you press CTRL + ESC, does the Start menu appear?

2 months is quite long to hope for a System Restore but a Repair Installation is always an option:

Don't know if this is any help or not, but according to sbc their Dsl installation disk can cause this on Xp, as we found out, had to go to their web site to download...Just a thought Blessings to All
