    Windows security center comes with XP sp2 and is the place where it checks for security such as if firewall is on, antivirus installed and updated, windows update is on.

    What is the file called and where it is located? can you see the path?

    When you did the search with spybot and you said that it found 'Windows Security Center', simply right click on that line and click on More Details then Jump to Location, then copy and paste the location. I've just installed spybot and it's version 1.4

    On the other hand I've ran the scan and it did found 'Windows Security Center', it has found this because the registry has been changed. The default value of 'Windows Security Center' is set to enabled in Services: services.msc /s. So whatever you do with that it won't harm ur computer, so you don't have to worry about it.

    From the previous link:

    Ok, after reading all the replies to my post at Castle Cops, I decided to do some digging on my own. Since I had either shut down the service (as in the security center), or changed the option (as in auto updates), and turned off the option (as in windows firewall) and all of these related to the security issues spybot found, I figured it had to be something simple. So, with some experimentation, here is what I found. First, remember that I had one computer that, after updating spybot, found these three items:

    Security Risks: Settings (Registry change, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\FirewallDisableNotify!=dword:0

    Security Risks: Settings (Registry change, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\UpdatesDisableNotify!=dword:0

    Security Risks: Settings (Registry change, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\AntiVirusDisableNotify!=dword:0

    and another computer with the same software, updates, etc. that found nothing when running spybot with the new updates. So I first went to the computer that spybot found those 3 security issues and restarted security center, rebooted, and ran another scan. Same result, same 3 security issues. So I disabled it again and rebooted, leaving the configuration as I intend to use it.

    Went to the other computer where no issues were found. This time I restarted Security Center, Windows Firewall, and Windows Auto Updates, rebooted and ran a spybot scan. Bam, got 2 of the same three issues only this time the security issue about windows auto updates was not one of them. Went into the security center and looked at the options for how windows security center was to notify me. This is in the upper left hand corner of the box when you open the security center from the control pannel. Well what do you know, the only one that was checked was the Auto Update notification, so I unchecked it and left all three blank. I then disabled the windows firewall, the windows auto updates setting it to notify me only, and then went to services and disabled the security center again. now the machine was as it was only with all 3 options of notification in the security center unchecked. Rebooted and ran a spybot scan. Bam, now Soybot found all 3 security issues just like on my other machine. They were identical.

    My Conclusion: There must be a relationship to the registry keys for these three security issues and the options checked on how security center is to notify you. Having the Security Center on or off is irrelevant to these keys, however, the options you have checked in the security center for how it is to notify you does relate somehow to these keys. Once I had all three unchecked, then Spybot notified me of the fact that they were off per the new update. I have not checked, but I would be willing to bet that my other machine, the one that spybot originally found these three security issues, had all 3 options in the notification area unchecked already before I shut it down, thus spybot found the difference and notified me of the change based on its new update. At least that is my take on it. Now running spybot on both machines gives the same result 3 security issues which I have turned off. Hope this helps anyone else that saw these after doing a spybot scan with the new update.

    I have microsoft antispyware installed and had webroot spysweeper and none of this software detect security center as an spyware. Spybot checks the value in the registry against the value that may already be build in or hard coded into the proram so it checks if they are different. So if you enable the security center then you won't get that as an infected file.

    so I don't think this is something you have to worry about

    seems to be general conflict,do not delete the security centre though.
    if any problems opt to restore .
