Reason: to add details about pc
-
I take it this PC is under warranty?
Sounds like Dell has basically rebuilt it.
That last dump was triggered by your mouse driver but references Memory Corruption.
Did Dell reinstall XP after making these changes?
Especially the motherboard & CPU?
-
no they didnt... but to give a bit more history.. after they replaced the ram and the vid card the FIRST time.. I formatted the PC ... I was getting the IRQL stop error.. with the same mouclass.sys.. and I was also getting one about win32k.sys.. .and a stop error about PFN list corrupt
u can reach me as davuswho id on yahoo if anyone wants to chat in detail or can help me
-
All those errors suggest Memory Corruption in a driver.
What is this Dell model?
Do you have the drivers list from Dell?
-
its a dell Dimension 8300 series..
Driver List.. which list do you want? I can get it quick for ya.
I'm actually using the latest drivers from the soundblaster website
and the latest omega video card drivers

You might try the Chipset Driver.
Also via the Device Manager you might try to update the Mouse Driver.
Another possibility is to run the Diagnostic Utilities.
There is also a BIOS Flash as a last option.
I am curious since Dell was there; didn't they have any ideas? Did they realise the same problems persisted?
-
Well.. the Dell in-home service people are 3rd party tech support guys... he left.. and then 2 hours later.. the stop error came
and which diagnostic utils are you referring to ?
-
I would call them back
The drivers & utilities in the previous link:
