    Our pc won't wake up!

    Hi,
wonder if anyone can help, we have a second, 4 month old pc at home and when closing down I chose the option to put it on standby.

Now I can't get it to start at all!

What have I done and how do I fix it?

    Thanks

have you tried turning it off at the wall and turning it on again? when you try to turn it on, do you hear fans/HD's spinning? any lights?
also, have you tried standby on this pc before?
Can you get onto the BIOS screen?

    Hi Mike,

Have not put this pc on standby before, although I do with my own regularily.

Have tried switching off at wall, when I try to start there is absolutely nothing, no sound, only on either side of the on/off button are two lights one green, one red, the red one flickers momentarily but nothing elso happens.

Machine is on a network and linked by a cable the light at the back of the machine where this is connected is on if plug is switched on.

Really strange, I thought all I had to do was click on the keyboard or move the mouse as I do with my own.

Mike, had to give up and call pc company - wanted to avoid paying premium rate calls if I could.

They are recalling the machine to check it out and repair it, blooming nuisance.

    thanks anyway

    Thanks Mike,

Nothing is coming on, on tower, no lights, no fan, only part that is lit up is where the cable to router plugs in a back of PC.

Will let you know but am really mad, bought this from Tiny this April for my kids as I have a tiny pc and have had no problems with it. Now they want me to pay £60 carriage and have to make arrangements to have it collected by phoning a premium rate telephone line at £1.00 a minute!!

All because I didn't take out an extended warranty with them. Will never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

Will let you know wot happens
    thanks a lot

We can try to help here as much as possible.

Sounds like a PSU problem at this point.

Have you opened it up? Checked all the connections?

i thaught by this that it is getting some power :s
Or do you mean a lose connection somewhere?

Looks like Tiny has gone bust!!!

Spoke to one of there tech guys today - nothing they can do for us till they find out if anyone is going to take up on the business.

He suggested opening up the machine and resetting the bios??

Fraid the most I have done is install modems, all very simple
will follow jephree's link and let you know how I get on.
    thanks a lot

Resetting the BIOS or clearing the CMOS is very easy. Just a matter of opening the case & removing the battery & possibly clearing the jumper depending on the board.

What is the exact model of Tiny? Perhaps we can still find info on-line.

I do not see how this will help when you are apparently getting no power inside:

Nothing is coming on, on tower, no lights, no fan, only part that is lit up is where the cable to router plugs in a back of PC.
Sounds like power is going into the PSU but nothing is coming out.
