Have a user who is getting this error message when booting to Windows XP:

Stop: C0000218
Unknown hard error

What should I have him do?

There are a few variations on this error depending on the exact message recieved.

Essentially a failure to load the registry.

The above use of the Recovery Console assumes that a full version XP CD was used to install & is still available.

With an OEM version you may need to consult the manufacturer for recovery options.
