    Hi all

Right this problem started yesterday and has got worse today.
Programs/games i run are causing the computer to reboot and suggest hardware failure. I havent touched anything for a few weeks so unsure of this.
Also interner explorer keeps crashing and closing.
Also when browsing my documents/ my computer etc it causes they just go into not responsing mode.
Ive ran search and destroy and net spy both clear. When running avg it keeps saying its finished the test but doesnt scan whole of computer and keeps finishing at different points.
Also when it does find something (only a trojan horse so far) it tries to heal it but crashes.

    Please Help

    Phil

Right god knows wats going on its gone tits up, see thread below for earlier problem but it has managed to unistall my graphics card and reinstall my old one. New graphics card is still plugged in and working but will not display a picture, whereas the old one will display a picture. I know im probably going to have to wipe computer now but if there is anything anyone knows before such drastic measures please let me know.
    Cheers

Running a Repair Install of XP is not that drastic & will retain your programs & settings.
However it will not fix hardware & or 3rd party driver issues.

Again I would go thru the error checking:

Look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

Also view your Error Log via:
    [1] Start Menu
    [2] Help and Support
    [3] Pick a Task
    [4] Tools
    [5] Advanced System Information
    [6] View the Error Log

    Also:
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the
    Debugging Tools from Microsoft
    2) Download and install this
    debugwiz
    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

I am curious about the details involving the graphics drivers you mentioned.

Also what happened when you tried to load the SiS AGP PCI-to-PCI Bridge Driver?

Errors also pointing to Audio Drivers. That last dump appears to have been triggered by your audio drivers.

    I would suggest trying this:

    1. Remove the graphics card & use the motherboard VGA port.

    2. Remove the sound card & use the motherboard audio.

    See if this changes anything.

The Sis agp pci thing will not install
I've removed the graphics card and sound card still havin problems with some programs hanging but not as much. Also the computer seems slower espically on boot up.
I've just attached both dmp file logs for you.

Were these last logs after or before you removed your sound card?

Also during this period you might want to install the board drivers for audio & VGA
