    Windows XP Home - Partitioning HD with existing installation

    I've been given a laptop to clean-up that my dad bought from a second-hand shop. None of the oem software is with it, but whoever sold it did a clean install before hand. Ive decided to keep the fairly fresh install, but create a partition that my dad can have a norton ghost image on, for when problems arise that would warrant a clean install of XP.

    How do I go about creating a partition without having to do a clean install? I think I have partition magic on my norton ghost disc, but im not sure how reliable it is etc and what the method is.

    With Ghost & Magic you have many options. XP itself can only create partitions during installation. Here are some quick links for your reading:
