Hello all, I`m new to the site so I will thank you in advance for any suggestions that you may have! When booting, my system only gets to the XP graphics, then right before it seems it has finished loading........BAM!!! BLACK SCREEN. So I reboot...nothing...same thing. Now I don`t have access to msconfig for safemode. So I try F8 @ startup which takes to me to where I need to be for a safemode boot, but the page is stuck...I used my up/down keys to try to get to safemode..... Nothing. Any ideas..............peace and thanks. malachi

Try F8 several times ... between boots unplug the computer from your house power for a few minutes.

Is the hard drive seen in the BIOS?

Do you have a full version XP CD?

If so first off try to enter the Recovery Console & run Check Disk (chkdsk).
