help needed please.
AMD 1800
wim xp pro
I've had 3 trojan horse virus but all quarantined,I think.
The system starts up very slowly until the desktop appears,the clock loads then sometimes after about 30 mins the task bar icons start to appear.Usually at this stage if I click on anything the system shuts down and reboots.It does the same in safe mode but doesn't shut down.
I've run AVG,norton and Trend pc-cyllin but no virus detected.Also tried Stinger but no virus
Some adware and spyware removed but makes no difference.
I've defragged and run chkdisk but still the same.
Anyybody got any ideas please?

Do you have a full version XP CD?

Or OEM Recovery?

Although it looks alot like hardware issues as well.

Try running in the Diagnostic Utility on your hard drive.
