Recently my computer has been having problems going on to the internet. It is a Windows XP on dial-up. I can still use other programs just as fine (word, excel, mp3 player, etc..) There's nothing wrong with the phone line/modem. However, it can't seem to connect with the network. In this case, AOL. All I know is that the problem lies within the computer and it's not AOL's problem.

I'm currently using Windows 98 to go on the internet in search for help. This is the other old computer I have to rely on. The internet connection works on this older computer, but not on the new one?

I have tried recovering the computer back to the date it broke down on me, but that didn't work. I've tried to reinstall AOL, but that isn't much help. The last thing I could think of is to burn all the programs/files on CDs and delete them from the computer to restore it to a new start. Anyone have any ideas? Please help.
