You will see inside a folder with all the saved restore points as well as a log & remote manager.
As far as I can see the necessary files will be recreated upon a reboot. Basically this just removes all previous restore points.
If it makes you more comfortable you can copy the contents to your documents or just leave them in the recycle bin untill you verify after reboot that the necessities were re-created.
ok thanks for the reply, that has made it more cleari'll let you know how i get on

You need to follow these steps in order to open that folder:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531
I don't think it is relivant but the 0x0000... is under the "data" colum on REGEDIT and it appears in all sorts of places many timesAlso: can you clarify this: "because i noticed on REGEDIT that there where guite a few 0x0000001c or similar"
Where do you see this figure in regedit? This is a stop error code as described here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...2kmsgs/1143.asp
i followed those steps but it still didnt work![]()
Just to verify:
You entered the Properties of the file & added your login name to permissions & you still cannot access?
Are you logged in as Administrator?
yes i am logged on as admin. i've managed to access it now, i didnt type the :F at the end. I havnt deleted the files yet but when go on system restore now, the error mesage doesnt come up so ive turned on system restore. Does this mean i don't need to delete the files?

By turning on System Restore you most likely did delete the files.
You can check to verify but if System Restore is working now you should be set there.
So now you have All Programs & System Restore?
Are you still getting memory errors?
