I am trying to run a "Fimbles" PC CD-ROM for my two year old Son. The game installs OK and I can get through the first couple of choices. However, I then receive the following error message - Macromedia Projector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I receive the same error message when running the Camedia software that came with my Olympus digital camera. This worked fine on my old PC [running Windows ME]. However two months ago I purchased a new computer with Windowsn XP on and I am plagued by this error message.
Can anyone help me and my son? Thanks.

One suggestion is to run these programs thru compatibility settings:

1-right click on the desktop icon for the game and select properties
(you can also right click on the game .exe itself and select properties too)

2-Select the 'Compatibility' tab

3-Check "Run this program in Compatibility Mode" checkbox.

4-In the dropdown box, select Windows 98/ME

Another is to make sure you DirectX is up to date:

Also perhaps check MacroMedia. I found this link that has no awnser but perhaps you can trace the issue.
