After I ran reg seeker all seemed to be O.K.
However when I try to install anti virus updates I get the message 12031-Connection reset.You may wish to manually connect to the internet etc.

When I went off the internet and re connected I got a message Windows can't find 'avupdate.exe'

I uninstalled my anti virus and re installed it in case it was that.

I then went to back ups on reg seeker and entered all back ups in the registry.

I then put my Windows Disc in and checked if there was a way to repair or re install 'avupdate.exe' but this was beyond me.

I have recently upgraded Microsoft Beta anti spyware which I suppose could be another factor.

What now,I do hope that someone can help.

have now received reply from V-Com(I use system suite5 which has anti virus from trend anti virus.)
It is all a storm in a teacup as they are having problems with their "easy up date".I was directed to a direct update to bring it up to date which worked and hopefully they will have restored their automatic system soon.
This might help some other poor users who are wondering what is wrong.Apologies for taking up your time.
