Ok so I come home after school and turn on my PC and it says DISK BOOTING error.. so it tells me to put in XP disk.. i put it in and it saysi do not have a freakin hard drive to install it to..


so i restarted it and went to the BIOS Setup Window and checked the IDE Hard Disk and it said "NONE"


For the record, im running 2 PCs on a ethernet split SWITCH and Telus told me im exposed to hackers unless i get a router

can you go into BIOS and for IDE device put auto?

Have you done anything else to the PC ?

You'll be open to others wanting to get into your machine without a firewall

I re-installed XP Sunday... This is what it says on the Setup

IDE Hard Drive <None>


and you can switch None to <Disable> and thats all

So its my hard drive thats f*cked

Check all your connections.

Unplug cables/ Replug. Keep trying. This is not uncommon when working inside the box.

BTW: I just got home

I unplugged the internet cord but it still says theres not Hard Ddrive installed...

ill try unplugging everything and stuff

Did you check the Primary Cable?

Is the Fireball plugged back in now?

If still not recognised try putting the Fireball on Secondary Master.

ok... sorry... I was assuming that you had the case open & were testing the internal connections.

If you want me to look up the manual: what is the exact make & model of the computer?

What I was suggesting was checking the connections inside the case.

Hmm.. how would there be any cables unplugged? how do i tell you the make & model of my Puter?
