memory upgraded to 512 bios report 384
hi all!
well, i have asus cuv4x motherboard that supports up till 1500 of memory.
i had two sticks of 128mb 133Hertz located on it. i added one new stick of 256mb also 133Hertz so i need to have 512mb and the memory bank of 3 slots onboard is full now (again i now have 3 sticks 1: 128mb 2: 128mb 3: 256mb , so the bank is full and i have 512mb of ram.)
when i startup the bios report 384, and Sandra Lite 2005, tells me that i have 2 sticks - one of 128mb and one of 256mb .
is there a possibility that the motherboard cant combine these three mem sticks together so it reads only 384mb??
ive seen and try almost everything, including getting the sticks out and change theyre position. also the bios was updated....
i cant really see where else to procced, can someone help me please.. ?!
thanks in advance, ido.!

sometimes the ram reading can be affected by which slots you put them in.....try a different order and see if that works.
or is there any chance you damaged a stick of ram?
you could try removing the 256 mb stick and if it says 256 (as before) then your sticks are ok.....if not then you know that one of your old sticks are damaged.
try swapping them around and tesing if each works
get back to me when you have tried those

i dont really know specs about your system. but for my 600Hertz pentium, its just great. alot better. i also added another HD (20 gigz) so now i have 50 gigz in total.
well i can say im satisfied cuz with just a small amount of money, i turn my old system into a well movie editing, game playing system.
. Ido.
