    externe exception C0000006??

    Hi everybody..

My computer is driving me crazy, I need some help to fix it..
it's not the first time it has big problems, but this time I can't seem to fix it..

Yesterday everything seemed to be as good as fine, I turned it off this morning and when turning it back on a few hours later the problems started.
I can't open msn. It seems to be opened, as I see below, but it doesnt open, when I click on the icon it doesnt open either, and after a while, the icon dissapears, as if I had closed it when it didnt even really opened, so I can't get on msn.
After that, I tried to open ad aware and spybot, both gave me this weird error window I NEVER had before.. wich is "externe exception C0000006". So I can't open them.
My computer constantly freezes, is impossibly slow, especially at start up.
I tried starting up in safe mode, it didnt help, I tried putting a back up, but it always said after completing ti didnt complete well and that no changes were made...
Also, lately got problems with the drivers of my soundsystem who appearently seem to deinstall themselves after a few hours randomly.....

I had a problem with generic windows a week or two ago, wich I finnaly fixed, i don't know if this is related. I also had virusses, and it was hard to remove them as the virus scans constantly froze the whole computer and all I could do then was shut it off..

My OS is XP home edition, and I'm connected to the internet through wireless D-link airplus..

    HELP ME PLEASE..!
I hope there is something else I can do then reinstall everything AGAIN....

Perhaps try to run Check Disk:

    start > run > cmd
in the new window type chkdsk/f
when prompted to run on boot choose Y & reboot
this will check for & fix any disk errors.

Also see if this program will run:
    http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx

Also see if you can get a HiJackThis log & post it in the HiJackThis section.

Please follow owen's Instructions and then post your log in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section (Not Here).

    tnx for the suggestions..

I had made a temporary fix by doing sfc /scannow

but im going to follow your advice anyway, cause it's not normal my computer breaks down so many times is it..

I'll have to download hijackthis first, and ill post a log, so if you got the time you or someone can check it

thanks a lot for your reply!

edit: I've run that tool (wich I've run sometimes before, and then it worked) but it said error while scanning

edit2: oh silly me, it was running twice, and not showing, that's why the scans says I dont have any infected files

You might want to consider a Repair Install.

    http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

It will not affect your programs or data but will remove all Windows Updates & Service Packs.

Creating an XP SP2 slipstreamed CD is quite easy if you wish to persue that option.
Otherwise the first thing to do after reinstall is to reinstall SP2.
It is best to have it already downloaded to your drive if you do not have the disk.
