1) the computer's running fine, but switches off suddenly without any warning/ shut down procedures. on retsarting, it gives the message "the system has recovered from a serious error"
2.) it keeps giving me the following error messages:
"Application has failed to start because NETU1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may solve the problem" (even when I haven't tried to open any program/file)
"Setup32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"
"Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" --> The computer then freezes and the screen goes blank (except for the eror msg) and is back to normal in a minute or two

All of those issues first off indicate a virus/ worm or malware.
Try this scan: (set to fix):

Also run these 2 apps:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx
Then please follow owen's Instructions and then post your log in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section (Not Here).
If the problems persist after these checks try:
start > run > cmd
in the new window type chkdsk/f
when prompted to run on boot choose Y & reboot
this will check for & fix any disk errors.
& also:
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.
Then:
1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

looks like im discovering new problems everytime I use my computer again
I can't attach any files when I'm sending emails, and I can't ownload any photographs when I'm surfing the 'net!
and my comp keeps shutting down without warning more so than before
and I tried housecall, only my comp freezes when I try running the scan...
will get back after following the rest of the instructions...

Ive traced the dmp file from my last shutdown...but I can't attach it. shd i open it in text format and paste the contents here?
im not sure if it would help but you could try downloading the reg value NETU1.dll and reinstalling it...

Did you follow this process?
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.
Then:
1) Download and install the

Windows itself cannot open dump files. You need the above tools installed.
If I mistake your problem please provide more details as to the posting problem.
