Media Player 10? Artist Details?

I previously used Media player 9 with no probs and the artists were listed as artist and that was cool. I upgraded to 10, and now theres contributing artist, and album artist, and some of the songs i drag from my computer into playlists dont appear in my library?? I dont understand!!!!!!!!!!! Where are they?????

Do you mean that the names of the artists aren't there? If so what happens if you click on the plus sign at the side of album artist?
BTW I am having trouble with music going missing with media player 10 as well and can't figure out how to copy music from a cd to my pc.

I have now resolved my problems, I was being a bit of a div, what i done was i was saving new tracks not in my music and in a different file, and once i did search for media in that folder, 179 tracks popped up! yee ha!! so now I have learnt my lesson and put them in my music.....

So is the rip option not there for you????

LOL that sounds like me.... my music is all over the place. The rip option is there but it keeps asking me to insert a cd, there is already one inserted. I never had this trouble with the other media player, that was easy to work.

will it play the CD? is it an audio CD or MP3? is it a mix or a proper CD? are you asking it to rip from the correct location ?

It's a cd with mp3s on it. Yes it will play the cd. If I select rip it says insert an audio cd and select the tracks to rip. I insert the cd, it spins but nothing happens.

It wont rip the tracks off an MP3 CD it only rips audio CD's...just open the CD and cut and paste the tracks as they've already been converted to MP3 format

How come no one told me you can do that? I just opened the folder and dragged and dropped the tracks I wanted into my music.
