for some reason all of a sudden, I cannot download certain files, ie - media bonus pack for Windows media player 10 from the microsoft site. When i try to click on it it brings up a pop up box that says "your currrent securtity settings do not allow this file to be downloaded". Well, thats funny cos I never had any problems downloading stuff from microsoft.com before. I am running norton internet securities, but have tried switching it off briefly but that doesnt change, and anyway, i never had to before? Why is this doing this can anyone help me??

Hey, I've had this problem before, it's quite easy to solve.

What you might want to do, is get a SpyWare scanner, and possibly HiJackThis and post the results in the other thread on this forum for someone to help you, if the problem continues.

To enable them again, you need to access Internet Explorer's options, by clicking Tools -> Internet Options, or selecting 'Internet Options' in the Control Panel.
Switch to the 'Security' Tab. You can either select 'Default Level' here, or click 'Custom'. If you didn't restrict your downloads, then it may be possible that another peice of software (eg. SpyWare) has edited your settings, and I would recommend 'Default' for this.
Otherwise, click custom, and scroll down to 'File Downloads', which is quite near the top. Hit the 'Enable' radio button, and click ok.

Thats it, should all be enabled now!
