My computer is doing very strange things.
I'm unable to use the keyboard due to windows (within control panel) popping up and WORD is somehow corrupt. Funny noises also.
I doubt I have a virus as I am running a firewall and Norton 2005.

I really want to format the disk and install Windows XP again.

Can anyone please tell me in the simplest of terms how I do this. Is it still a question of typing in the command for formatting the C drive and if so, what is this command, I've forgotten! and at what point would you type it it ...

A repair install will reinstall XP while leaving your data & programs intact.

A clean install will wipe the drive & reinstall XP.

Either way you will need to reinstall SP2 & all critical updates as they will be lost unless your CD is an XP SP2 CD.
