Unhappy Reapting Blue Screen (5 times)

    hi xp experts!
i searched google after experienced some blue screens and unexpected reboots.
after getting the second blue screen, i unplugged my modem (the old one - 56.6Kbits), i didn't use it, and it has the only PCI card that was installed, all the others are on-board.
in the same time i installed a nVidia GeForce 2 440MX, because i wanted to do it a long time ago, and this was an opportunity...
nothing helped, after rebooting the system crashed at least 3 more times, i don't know exactly what the computer was doing in the exact moment, because my wife used it then.
i already downloaded the debug tool from microsoft site, and your program "wiz" as well, because i saw in other threads you're asking for it.

i'm attaching the logs, 5 from today, and one from 2 days ago, because i didn't know what will help you, and because they were different errors.

Thank you very much for your help.

The hardware pointed to in the first dump is an Conexant Modem.

The following dumps were all driver issues.

When you installed the graphics card did you uninstall the previous drivers?

What is your current status? Are you able to use the computer?

What was your previous graphics device? Was it another card or onboard?

    hi jephree!
    thank you for your reply.

i installed the new graphics card today, after the 2 first crashes. i didn't uninstalled the old card (an on-board graphics card), beauase since the installation of windows xp on this computer in the computers store, the driver for this was missing. you know, i got the '?' on the icon in the device manager.

the current status, is that i can work, and send you back this message, but sometimes in the middle, it rebooting. happend only once since the first message.

here is the new dump: (attached)

Did you uninstall any modem software along with the modem.
There are still traces of that modem.

More importantly try to install the latest nVidia driver:

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html

Save the download on your desktop & then:

Boot the computer to Safe Mode options (F8 after BIOS) & choose:
    "Enable VGA Mode".
Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
Find your graphics card driver package & uninstall.
While in Control Panel, go to System, Hardware, Device Manager.
Expand (Click +) besides Display Adapter,
Right Click your graphics card, Choose Properties, Drivers, uninstall.
Do this both for the card & onboard chip. Also Disable the onboard chip.
Reboot the Machine - It will re-detect your graphics card.
    Then install the new drivers.

Also just to clarify: your monitor was formerly plugged into the motherboard & now has been plugged into the nVidea card? Is this correct?

the modem, i think is the ADSL modem.
the old modem and the ADSL modem are the same company "Conexant".
Maybe that is the modem you see.

any way, i'll install the new driver of nVidia.

how do i uninstall driver of a hardware i removed already from my computer? (such as the old modem)

Yes that is probably what I see.

I was just curious if you had installed any software package with the modem.

Let us know how the nVidea goes.
