Hi,
I have a friend who runs XP, somehow they have lost there list of programes from the start menu, but they are all on their desktop in a folder, obviously they would like their programes back where they should be.

Tonight I tried to drag and drop their folder of programes from the desktop back into the start menu but it would not let me, is there a simple way to get them back??

The drag & drop might work for individual programs rather than a single folder.

If not check your settings here: Start/Run/Msconfig/Startup/Res*tore Startup Programs.

If not & you have a full version XP CD insert it holding the Shift key so that it doesn't actually load; then go to start | run | sfc /scannow
