Computer slows down when i try to scroll a folder.

Hi, in the last 2 days I have noticed that my computer slows down for about 7 minutes when i try to use the wheel mouse ot right click on a file. it dosnt seem to matter which folder it is. I have freeram xp and i can see that the memory goes from 249 right down to 1-5 and stays there for ages. This seems to happen after say about 10 mins (once it happens and clears itself its ok for about 10 mins). I have updated norton, spybot, spyware, adaware etc and they have found nothing. Can you help?

    Thanks.

    See if this helps:

Also seeing as this is a recent problem consider a system restore.

Hi Jephree, thanks for the link. I installed it and found it was just to complicated, I have 209 items listed, to go through each and disable it I would get lost! I'll try the restore. Also I now think the problem is located to just 1 folder.

If it's just one folder... what is it? What are the properties?
Is it just a huge folder or perhaps contains a problem?
Have you scanned it with Norton?
