My pc recently has begun to get the blue screen, then it reboots itself, and runs checkdisk. Sometimes finds errors, sometimes doesn't. I have decent surge protectors so I don't think it's getting power surges. The fan in my pc has started to get a little louder than normal. Could my hard drive be going bad? I have an 80gb w/34gb left, and a 40gb, with 31gb left, running xp. I haven't been able to "catch" it doing it, I just end up hearing the pc rebooting itself. Any ideas?

your hard drive manufacturers site should have a download section where you should find a drive check program to test your drives. or post your maker here & i'll look.

your fan shouldn't have much to do with the drives as far as its' noise. you might want to clean it with some canned air.

not sure what you mean by not "catching it", but "hearing it"?

you might want to look in the Event Manager via administrative tools to see if you see any issues that came up recently.
