Missing Restore data
Since yesterday, I am unable to restore to a previous day. First, I detected that for some reason, my restore became "Diabled" and then found out that I have no restore points for the past.
Could any one help me get my restore system working.
Thanks

Right click My Computer then click Properties | System Restore
There is the on/off switch
As well as a setting for how much space to allow (in other words: how many points will be saved).
At this point you will have lost any previous points.
Do you have any other problems? Any idea what happened? Was there a reason you were trying to restore?

Thanks for a quick response.
I believe my computer got hijacked. Here are some of the things happened in the last few days.
1. Password of one of the user accounts changed and could not log in. We had to delete that had to put a new account.
2. I have a Kids Watch program to control the times and access level for my kids running in the background. I found that there was another account with name "aspnet" which appeared from no where. I had never set that user account. When we looked at the user account setup through Control Panel that account was not visible.
3. As mentioned before Restore Points were lost and the Restore program was turned off. We did turn it on again, but the data was no where to be found.
All this made me believe my computer was hijacked. I have C: drive and a slave D: drive where I store most of our files. Do you think if it is infected with some virus, it has also infected my D: drive?
Is there a way to get rid of this virus or hijacker without having to reformat my hard drive(s).
Thanks for a quick response.

aspnet is a legitimate account created automatically by .Net Framework. As with the builtin Admin account it is hidden under most circumstances.
Starting System Restore after it has been stopped will erase all previous restore points.
Do you run an AntiVirus program? Here is an online scan:
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
As to the Hijacking:
please follow owen's Instructions and then post your log in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section (Not Here).
Hope this helps.
