last year we bought a emachine computer and it has window xp home edition installed in it. over a month ago my brother went on line and used Norton anti virus to check for viruses. He found about 9 of them and he put them all in quarantine. The next day I started the computer and all of a sudden the "common client user has encounter a problem and needs to close" popped up and ever since we can't get on line. we don't know what to do.HELP PLEASE

1. What is the exact Norton product you have installed?

2. Can you view that quarantine folder?

3. Make an attempt to go on line, noting the time, then: look in your Event Viewer: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with an attempt to go online.

4. Go to start | run | %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
Check if you have a restore point prior to the quarantine. Click the <- next to April to bo back to March.
