What was the blue screen error?

Were you installing any new hardware or software?

    Do you have SP2?

Check the Device Manager: RT click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager for any "!"

Also: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

You can try a Restore Point just for a try.

See what i really dont get is, when i went to device manger i saw it there it said "Creative SB Live! seriers" But its not im my sound and audio device's. I dont understand.? O the Blue screen error was i took out my speakers and my box for the speakres plug, and i put in my mic. Then i went to test if my mic was working and i went to sound and.... and it was loading and then i got a blue screen. So i took it out and put everything back and restart and now this.

Also: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

    You have Home?

    To view
the event log: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/eventvwr

    Sorry bout that

Were there any yellow "!" in Device Manager?

You might want to try to uninstall the Device in Device Manager then reboot. XP should see the card as new.

OK i uninstalled it and i rebooted. When i reboot i got a new hardware found but when i go to add hardware the one that i want isnt there. The SB live is there but i want the other because it works better and i dont get problems, and thats the one that was found for new hardware. But i couldnt find that one so i just said forget it and i took the SB live but when i did that nothing happened. I still have no audio device.

By "the other" are you refering to your on-board audio chip?

If so: remove the card after removing its' drivers.

If you choose to go back to the on-board chip you may need to reinstall those drivers.

If that is the case can you ID the motherboard?

From the mobo site you should see download drivers audio in the support section.

    So where are we

You got the SB Live recognised but still no sound?

Have you checked all settings via Control Panel | Sounds & Audio Devices?

What did you do to get the card recognised?

Did you ever check the Event Viewer?
